Entry Requirements
- Candidate should Hold a GOOD Bachelor’s degree in ANY discipline, preferably 2nd class lower or better.
- Candidates who HOLD a Pass/Third Class degree with 5-10 years working experience may be considered for admission into an MSc programme. In such a situation, the student shall attend and pass an interview; and show proven record of deeper involvement in research.
- Candidates with other masters’ qualifications would be admitted into the programme under special arrangement for MSc degree.
- Candidates with background in a related discipline will have an added advantage.
- Candidates with first degree qualifications must have at least 2 years working experience.
- All students shall be admitted into the programme as MSc students in the first instance.
- Students who wish to progress into the MPhil would have to meet the minimum requirement set by the IDL Board; including: obtain CWA of 70 or better after the first year.
- The interview panel will assess and judge the applicant’s research abilities and suitability to progress into the MPhil.
- Candidates with qualifications MSc/MA/MBA with two (2) years working experience shall be admitted into the MPhil programme to do research for one year.

- Credit Requirements: The minimum credits required for graduation is 46 for MSc

To qualify for the award of MSc degree in Energy and Sustainable Management at KNUST, like most graduate programmes, students must:
- Complete all taught core/mandatory and elective courses and should have passed all registered taught courses prescribed by Academic Board;
- Obtain 46 credits (in the case of MSc Award) and achieve a minimum cumulative weighted average (CWA) of 55%.
- Students who obtain a CWA of less than 55.0 but between 50.0 and 54.9 shall be given the opportunity to take some more additional courses to make up the mark; or apply for postgraduate diploma.
